Skate blades should be sharpened at regular intervals. A blade that is too dull makes training and development difficult. The sharpening interval is affected by the amount of training, the blade profile and the skater's individual needs. For a beginner skating school student, sharpening twice a year is often enough, while a competitive skater may need to sharpen them, for example, every month. The skater knows when the blade is starting to become too dull, but coaches and experts in the field can also check the condition of the blade. We recommend using only skate maintenance professionals when sharpening skates.
